2010 Method
Burton Says:
If you were handed the keys to Shangri La, what would you build? This was the question we asked our R&D team and the Method was their answer. With every resource and no restriction, the result is a paradigm shift in high-performance. Using materials in entirely new ways, finely woven carbon strands, titanium edges, and strategically placed S2 glass help lighten the load while amplifying precision. When someone asked, "If we can, why don't we?" No one argued.
Featured Tech
The Channel
The Channel is snowboarding's most direct connection focusing power through a central connection spine that evenly distributes energy for added rebound and snap. It works with both Burton's 3D and EST bindings, and lets you mount bindings to board any way you see fit. Easily dial in your stance width and angles with next-level micro-adjustability.
Ultrameth Construction
The culmination of 33 years of board-building experience, UltraMethŠÜ¢ construction on the NEW Method represents a paradigm shift in high-performance. Blending unconventional design with the latest in aerospace technology, UltraMeth replaces glass with a NEW S2 carbon composite that maximizes strength while minimizing weight.
Every element from edges, core, and sidewalls to the plug inserts on the Channel has been analyzed in terms of function and performance. With a seemingly paradoxical mix of featherweight construction and premium performance, the result is a board that not only challenges convention, but also the law of physics.
Core
Multizone EGD
The wood grain is perpendicular to the core only under the bindings "the area from which a rider's power emanates" to enhance carving precision, response, and durability while maximizing snow sensitivity.
Negative Core Profile
The team's favorite profile features thinner sections of core between the bindings for softer flex and torsion. Perfect for everything from park, pipe, and pow to rails and boxes, these boards excel over a variety of terrain and conditions.
New Alumasuperfly Core
Lighter than any core before it, yet strong enough to survive a launch into outer space, our new ultra-minimized Alumasuperfly core offers the final word in heightened snow-sensitivity and mind-reading control.
Carbon I-Beam
Our ultra-light carbon backbone gives the board added pop and longitudinal snap.
NEW S2 Carbon Vaporskin Lite
In a never-ending quest to reduce weight without sacrificing performance, we have infused Carbon VaporskinŠÜ¢ Lite with S2 fiberglass on the NEW Method. The result is envelope-pushing performance and increased strength in the lightest composite matrix board construction to date.
New Methlon N2O WFO Vision Base
The secret to speed? Teflon, which is quite possibly the slickest substance known to man. Highly durable and low-maintenance, this base's ability to absorb more wax means blistering speed that lasts all season.
Shape
The classic, most versatile snowboard shape, designed to be ridden with a slightly longer nose than tail to concentrate pop in the tail while still giving you plenty of float and control to rip any terrain or snow condition.
Infinite Ride
This exclusive pop and power-enhancing technology allows us to maximize pop and strength by overbuilding the board, then putting it in a machine that breaks the board in for you. The result is a consistent feel from the first day forward, season after season.
New Slimrail
This new, ultra-minimized evolution in sidewall construction on the NEW Method shaves weight without sacrificing edge hold, strength, or rideability.
Edge Technology
Grip & Rip Edge Tune
Our tried and true edge tune, perfect for slicing and dicing the entire mountain to pieces.
NEW Titanium Alloy Pressure Distribution Edges
The NEW stainless steel titanium alloy edge on the Method offers superior strength-to-weight and corrosion-resistance, and when combined with our Pressure Distribution Edge geometrics results in unstoppable edge-hold and everlasting precision.
Flex : Twin
The flex is perfectly symmetrical from tip to tail for a balanced ride that's equally versatile when ridden regular or switch.
Feel : 5
To help simplify things, we've assigned a single "feel" rating to each of our boards. This number is based on a variety of factors including the board's materials, shape, tip-to-tail flex, and torsion (aka edge-to-edge rigidity). This number is based on a scale from one to ten with one being softer and more relaxed and ten being most responsive. Keep in mind that a higher number doesn't mean the board is more difficult to ride. It simply helps you compare boards within our line to determine which is best for your riding style.
